My favorite musician and why?

Wow, this one is a toughie. I can't pick just ONE favorite musician! There are so many good ones to choose from. (For the record, I hate questions like this.)

So, I think I'll change this question to some of my current favorite music artists. There we go, I like that one.

15 Facts About Me

Fact #1. I am a Diabetic (Type 1 Juvenile Diabetes). I've had it for almost thirteen years.

Fact #2. I love Irish Step Dancing. It's my life.

Fact #3. I play the violin.

Fact #4. I love to write; I hope to write a book someday.

Fact #5. I also love art, and am really enjoying my drawing/painting watercolor class right now.

Fact #6. I snowboard.

Fact #7. I love Indie/Rock music, and all sorts of different genres as well. My music interests are certainly not generic.

Fact #8. I probably wouldn't have started this blog without Kelsey encouraging me to do so.

Fact #9. I love to read -- I don't know what I would do without books.

Fact #10. I hope to be in a journalism class next year, and even possibly internship at a local magazine.

Fact #11. I can't decide if I want to pursue a career in writing, or in the medical field. Up until this year, I was certain it would be the medical field, and writing wasn't even option.

Fact #12. I could live at the local library if they would let me. That place is heaven.

Fact #13. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Fact #14. I still can't decide what college I want to go to, or even my major for that matter.

The Meaning Behind my Blog Name:

The Hilarity of Spontaneity

Well, if you must know, this whole blog started with Kelsey telling me I should write a blog. I decided I might as well give it a try, so I did. But the thing that really stumped me was what I would name my blog. I came up with quite a few ideas, many of which I can't remember for the life of me now. But this one was the one that stuck with me. 

Basically, my life is pretty funny, and never what you expect. It's very spontaneous, and I'm probably one of the weirdest people you would ever get the chance to meet (when I say weird, I mean it in a cool way. You would have to meet me in person to know exactly what I'm talking about). So the title sums up my life in a positive, spunky way -- it fits me to a T, I think. Spontaneous, hilarious, life is good. 

So now you know. :)

Songs I listen to when I'm happy:

anything I'm in the fancy for. Right now I would have to listen to Pumped Up Kicks. I love Foster the People.

Songs I listen to when I'm sad:

anything by Lana Del Rey. Her songs are beautiful. And Coldplay because they are amazing.

Songs I listen to when I'm bored:

I just hit shuffle on my iPod and stop when I hear a song I like.

Songs I listen to when I'm hyped:

Hm... Well, I'm not really hyped right now. I should probably answer these questions when I'm in the specific mood. I'm sick today (and have been for the weekend) so I don't really have the brainpower to think and answer these.

For integrity's sake: I Believe in a Thing Called Love by The Darkness. That's a pretty awesome song.

Songs I listen to when I'm mad:

sometimes Rage Against the Machine, sometimes Lana Del Rey, sometimes Coldplay. It all depends.

Places I Love to Eat:

 One of the first Thai food restaurants I ever went to. I really like their coconut soup. 

I LOVE Gloria's Little Italy. It's to die for!

Yum. 

Guru's! I love their sweet potato fries. And fry sauce of course!

Well, today is Sunday. How has my day been so far? Despite not wanting to wake up at 7:00 to start getting ready for church, a hot shower was a very nice way to start out my day. My family and I actually made it on time to church today and I'm really glad we went.

Sacrament meeting was definitely something I needed to hear today; the feeling I walked out of the meeting with was even better. Sunday school was fabulous and I know I'm really going to enjoy that class this year. I'm really excited that we get to study the Book of Mormon for an entire year -- maybe that's just because I'm almost done reading the entire Book of Mormon by myself for the first time for Personal Progress, but whatever the reason, I'm really glad.

Young Women's was also really great. What I got out of the lesson was ways to develop a stronger relationship with the Savior and how to strengthen our testimony and lead the lives we should be living.

I can't express to you all just how much I love the gospel, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and my Savior, Jesus Christ. If you haven't been able to know for yourself just how much He and our Heavenly Father love each and every one of us, then I strongly encourage you to seek for that -- because it's the best feeling in the world. Without this gospel, I wouldn't be able to know that I always have someone I can go to in times of trouble or whenever I'm in need, and who will always love me no matter what. To be able to understand and KNOW that I am never alone is always a wonderful feeling. And even if times are getting hard, it doesn't mean my Father in Heaven isn't watching over me or has forgotten about me, or even that He loves me any less; it's just a time in my life for me to learn and grow closer to Him and my Savior.

I know it's hard to always be positive about life and to have a good attitude when things might be really hard. But being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has helped me so much to become a stronger and better person, as well as having a smiling face when times are trying.

I know this church is true, and I know that President Monson is a Prophet of God. I know that Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon, and I'm so grateful that he did. I know the Book of Mormon to be the word of God, and I'm so grateful for the opportunity I have to study from it each day.

I strongly encourage anyone who reads this to go out there and discover for yourself just how much your Heavenly Father loves you; He is there, and He cares about you -- He cares about each and every one of us.

I've had a really great day today, and I hope all of you are having a great day as well. Enjoy the beautiful weather, and take advantage of the holiday in front of you tomorrow. Go on a hike, read a good book, accomplish something on your To-Do list.

Happy New Year! (Or is it really so happy?)

Well, this is officially my first post of 2012.

Happy New Year! The only downside: The Mayans said the world ends this year -- 12 months from now.

Before the world ends though, I'll finish personal progress, get my license, turn eighteen, and hopefully get asked to prom (cross fingers here).

It'll be an exciting year. And NO, I don't think the world is really going to end.

My New Year's Resolutions hardly ever get completed, but I still think it's fun to make a list.

So here goes!

1. Finish Personal Progress
2. Get my license
3. Actually read at least a hundred books this year
4. Go on more than 2 dates
5. Get B's or higher in every class
6. Follow the Presidential Election -- so I can actually know who I should vote for
7. Complete my Honor Bee or Personal Progress for the second time
8. Move up a level in Dance
9. Improve my times for swim team
10. Keep my Diabetes under control

If I think of anything else worth adding to my list, I'll probably add it on. And hopefully by next year I'll have everything completed that I wanted. :)

I have come to the conclusion that I kind of fail as a blogger. BUT, it's not entirely my fault. School (curse the word) has been keeping me very busy, and I don't have any time to get on the computer and type up something for an audience I'm not even sure is there to read.

NO, this is not a post saying I'm deleting my blog -- I would feel like even more of a failure -- but I'm just saying sorry for not being able to post regularly so far. Hopefully with time it will get better.
